Self-cleaning Surfaces
Muddying a superhydrophobic surface is far from easy. In this demonstration of the Lotus-Effect®, a surface in which one half has been given a superhydrophobic coating and the other half hasn’t is plunged into a mud box. The half with the coating comes out clean whereas the other half is clearly very dirty.
